i really like this quote. i think that may be starting point for my posts actually: inspirational quotes of some sort. this one is particularly inspiring, i think. if you put your mind to something, you can find a way to do it or achieve it, but if you, deep down in your heart, really and truly believe that you cannot do something, well, you're setting yourself up for failure. the power of positive thinking is extremely important, as your psyche tends to influence much of what you can and cannot do.
i've been a psychology major for the last four years -- child psychology, if you want to get specific -- and i have learned quite a bit about how the human mind works and about the power of thought and action. to be quite honest with you, i think having the thought of "yes, i can do this" is even more important than the physical capability of being able to do something. think of the woman that saves her son from under a car, or the woman that runs fast enough to get away from some mass murder that runs double her stride; the sheer force of will is what drives these people forward, and that's extremely important for anyone to note, in my opinion.
